Modular Civic Zoology:
Starburst

Project No.03
Project Overview
To accentuate Polish heritage by creating a children’s exhibit: adhere to the constraints of design guidelines and push the Planck scale to encourage children to question and awe.
Inspiration
As a child, I was constantly confronted with “growing up.” I was taught about our ancestors and questioned the probabilities of evolution in all species. I was young enough to imagine something distantly impossible and rationalize its possibility. This is Starburst, a playful hybrid of a lion, giraffe, and ostrich that invokes childhood philosophies of the impossible or just the unknown. How do we grow up; how do they grow up?
Future of Starburst
After their creation, Starburst was adopted and adapted to Marvel’s Richmond Office (bottom, right).
